QUESTION & ANSWER

GraphRAG vs. RAG Selection

The normal RAG is better suited to retrieve facts and paragraphs from local files; the GrampRG helps to address cross-document linkages, complex relationships and global themes through physical, relationship and graphic structures. The Gramphrag is not natural and more accurate, but also increases the costs of extraction, dissimilarity, mapping, performance and evaluation. Enterprises should first establish the baseline of the normal RAG with real questions, and only verify the Graphrag when relationship problems continue to fail.

Answer the question.

First, give conclusions that can be used for decision-making

The route selection depends on the type of problem, not the number of documents. The query system ' s article, the parameter of the product, the keyword, the vector and the rearrangement are usually effective; the chart structure may provide an incremental value when asking about the relationship between multiple items, clients, people and events, or summarizing cross-document themes from a wealth of information. The GraphRG project also maintains entity names, synonyms, relationship calibrations and updated rules. The most prudent way is to select a limited data domain, comparing the same complex set of questions to existing search, regular RAG and GraphRAG, respectively.

DECISION FACTORS

What conditions need to be identified before judgement is made?

The same question may have different answers under different business, data and project phases. It is suggested that the following conditions be checked and that the common findings on the web be incorporated into their own projects.

Whether the true query is a local fact or a cross-document relationshipWhether key entities and relationships can be clearly definedFrequency of knowledge updates and operational maintenance responsibilitiesWhether quality enhancement offsets delays, costs and governance inputs
ACTION STEPS

Suggested order of advance

01

First, we'll be clear about the target and the border.

Collects real user questions, no result queries and manual search paths.

02

Validation Key Dependence

The baseline of keywords, vectors, reordering and quotations is built first.

03

Development of assessable outcomes

Select a limited entity and relationship to complete the Graphrag PoC.

04

Make sure you decide the next step with the real results.

(b) Decision-making after comparison of quality, authority, delay, cost and maintenance work.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

How do you understand it in the actual business?

Example used to illustrate the method of judgement

An enterprise does not have to allow all queries to be mapped and can be traced by problem type. The examples do not represent the performance of a particular client, and the actual conclusions need to be verified in conjunction with the enterprise’s own business volume, sample, system and liability boundaries.

COMMON RISKS

The easiest pit to step on.

Use the Gramphrag as a default upgrade for all knowledge base

Build a complete knowledge map before looking for business issues

Show only the answers, not evaluate the entity relationship and the reference path

ACCEPTANCE

How should we end up receiving and confirming?

The quality of the entity’s relationship, search for the hit, quote support, answer, refusal, authority, updating, delay and cost should be assessed separately, compared with the existing search or the normal RAG baseline.

When preparing to communicate with suppliers or internal teams, it is recommended that current processes, representative samples, existing systems, planning time and budget levels be brought. First, the unknown items are clearly marked, and then the decision is made to use diagnostics, PoC, fixed-range projects or ongoing research and development, which is usually more reliable than a direct demand for a price and duration without borders.

Your project conditions are different from the examples above?

Operational objectives, existing systems, sample and planned time could be collated before consultants could make preliminary judgements in relation to actual boundaries.
